METKA trains peer, callidus, and international student tutors twice a year. Peer and callidus tutors provide guidance to Finnish students.
A peer tutor receives new students on their first days and monitors the progress of his/her tutor group during the first academic term.
A callidus tutor is a student who is familiar enough with his/her own field in order to be able to help and advise other students. It is possible to receive three credits for callidus tutoring as part of one’s optional studies. The callidus tutor training focuses on the various methods of callidus tutoring, the organization of workshops and study groups, as well as learning techniques and difficulties.
